TMIM Day 2: Doing what comes naturally?

One of my goals for the first three weeks of the Fat Loss Quickie Home Office Transformation Challenge is to write down what I eat. I do this using a nifty web program/iphone app called the Daily Burn. i even have it set up as a gadget in my gmail so that I don’t forget.

I find that in business (and in life) tracking helps get results. Since I’ve been starting to keep a spreadsheet on my business stats (number of clients, amount of money made, etc.) – those stats have started to improve. Once I lost 80lbs (which I gained back…but that’s another story) tracking points with Weight Watchers.

The thing about obsessively food tracking (yes, I’ve been measuring out my cheerios) is that it is a crutch – sort of training wheels for a new lifestyle. I know that I won’t write down everything I eat forever — but for now – it is good to know where I am. The key is going to be getting the good nutrition habits to be reflexive. I just listened to an interesting audio that is part of the Fat Loss Quickie program from Tom Venuto about how to really dig deep and change those icky underlying beliefs that are halting your progress. The process is mechanical and intentional (writing down beliefs, challenging them, affirming new beliefs) but over time, the mechanics seep in and become lifestyle. That is what I’m hoping to do with both my food and business tracking sheets.

How are you tracking your efforts?
