My very favorite gmail plug in – gets much better!

I am an avid user of Mailplane for the mac. Mailplane is a desktop client for gmail – that adds a bit of extra functionality (if you are a mac user – you should check them out). One of my favorite parts of MailPlane is it’s built in plug ins… my favorite of all of these is Rapportive. Rapportive is a widget that gives you information about the person you are e-mailing. You get a picture, their linked in profile info, their latest tweets and facebook posts. You also have a chance to connect to the people you interact with (by friending, following or adding them to your Linked In network).

Having Rapportive hooked up has helped me get to know my clients better and to put a face with the name. Rapportive has added a new feature… better twitter integration. Now you can follow, reply and retweet without ever leaving gmail.
