Contrary to the popular statement, bribery will get you nowhere, it will get you right where you want to be on the internet. A sign up box on your main website page is good but you want to send as many people as you can to your main sign up page.

Components of a good opt-in page:

Clear, clean page – tell your visitors what you want them to do.

List benefits – tell your visitors what benefits they’ll get.

Bribe – include your bribe, a free report, or e-course, consultation, anything free.

Tracking – technology today helps you track not only how many people visit your site and from where but also who is making purchases at your site. You must track to know what works and what doesn’t work for continued success.

Once you’ve gotten what you want to say down you’ll need to create and opt-in form to connect your website with your autoresponder. It isn’t difficult, just copy and paste some code into your site. Easy as pie.

Publish Your Own Newsletter: provide your subscribers with information that you will only share with them.

Autoresponders act as your 24/7 sales force, which allows you to follow up with customers automatically. You can be on a beach somewhere or asleep at home in your bed and your autoresponder will continue to do business for you.

You’ve probably heard it before “The Money is in the List” but where do you get a list? Lists take time to grow therefore one of the first things you need to do when you start out online is set up a list.

Signing up for an autoresponder lets you send out messages when people sign up for your list or newsletter, buy a product from you, or just when you have an offer to promote. You can also use an autoresponder to send out an e-course in which you provide mini-lessons every day or every week. Once the lessons are pre-loaded into the autoresponder the messages will be sent out at the days and times in which you have requested without you having to do it manually. Probably one of the most well known autoresponders is Aweber.

By learning a few technology basics you’ll come to find out the internet is not as scary as it seems. Just because launching on the Internet can be done quickly doesn’t mean it should be done quickly. Before you start investing in tools and programs and begin constructing your online business, take some time to really narrow in on what you want to do with technology in your coaching practice. Ask yourself these questions:

Do you want to primarily funnel people into your coaching practice?

Are you interested in leveraging the thousands of hand-outs you’ve prepared over the years for your clients?

Would you like to find a way to work individually with fewer clients, yet make more money?

Write down your goals – what would you like to accomplish in the first three months? After the first year?

Take stock of your current resources. What do you have now that can quickly be repurposed and used in your Internet marketing efforts? Create a business plan.

Beware of shiny new objects. The internet is filled with programs and other material that promises easy ways to make money online quickly in your business. But remember when your drift from one place to another with no direction, you get nowhere.
