This month, I’ve been taking part in the Ultimate Blog Challenge. The idea behind the challenge is to write and post 31 blog posts in the month of October. It is great to have goals — and as of now – I’m only one post behind. The other part of the Blog Challenge (which is proving to be very useful) is sharing the posts on Twitter. Each post is tagged with #blogboost and several of the participants (including me) go through each day and retweet posts from people in the challenge.
The trick is to spread the posts out through the day. In the video below, I show you a free web service called Buffer App (the link is a referral link – I get extra tweets beyond my 10 a day for everyone who checks it out). Buffer App creates a queue of tweets that is releases on a schedule that you choose. With the Firefox and Chrome extensions you can add things to your buffer in less than 5 seconds. It only takes me 5 minutes to go through and set up my retweets in the morning (the video shows you how). I’ve been doing this for a week and have picked up 100 new followers on Twitter and my Klout score has increased — plus, I enjoy helping people out.
