E-mail Secret: The best way to use an autoresponder

Are you misusing your autoresponder? If you are, you could be seriously undermining your business. Even in this age of social media, you mailing list is the heart of your online business. Build a big list and you can make money — fail to build a list and you will have a tough time getting the clients you need.

The sad thing is most people do not use their autoresponders to their full potential. If you are doing a weekly or biweekly newsletter that you create each week and send to your entire list — chances are you are not using your autoresponder as well as you could. Autoresponders are designed to send a series of messages to people who sign up for your list. Most people only have a message or two (or maybe a 5 part e-course in their autoresponders. Since most people only buy after the 5th offer — you are giving up too soon on your customers by not having an autoresponder sequence set up with at least 10 messages.

The easy way to do this is to put the content that you would normally deliver via a broadcast e-newsletter into your autoresponder. You can even send out the newsletter and add the autoresponder content (people won't remember seeing the content before — and you can lead your readers through your material in a logical fashion). Your content will keep giving and giving. If you want, you can even add an affiliate link to a product you think your network would enjoy or to one of your products. That way, you can offer diverse products to your audience at the exact time they are ready for them. Over time, you can build up a very valuable series of content that your network will enjoy and will recommend to others.

Do you need help putting together an autoresponder series? Bob the Teacher is currently starting his list from scratch — and he has invited anyone who would like to join him to peek over his shoulder learn with him step-by-step for free. He is now on Day 9 — but you can go here to sign up and start with day 1 If you need a little more support on the tech side, Bob is also selling videos that show you step by step what he is doing on each day of the challenge. I am going to start revamping my Tame the Internet Monster list using his advice. Want to join me? Sign up and then let me know in the post comments. Maybe we can support and encourage each other.
