Why 95% of people who just got Butterfly marketing won't make any money…

Sometimes, I wish I would have been the first person to really get Twitter or Facebook or even 1shopping cart.  It would have been easy to establish myself as an expert and charge a premium for my services.

Virtual assistants have a great opportunity right now to be in the ground floor.  Mike Filsaime just released his very successful (and expensive) butterfly marketing software and course to 5,000 customers for free.  It was so popular that the servers crashed for 5 hours.   Because of the server snafu, Mike vowed to print as many copies as necessary to get a copy to everyone who ordered one today.

My guess is that 95% of the people who download the software won't follow through. The remaining 5% will set up a site that is not as effective as it should be. Why won't people take action?

  • It takes some technical skill (or least lack of technical fear) to get butterfly marketing all set up and ready to go on your server. You'll be creating SQL databases, chron jobs, etc.
  • Before you even start setting up your butterfly marketing site, you need a a free product and a product to sell. I can gurantee that without something to sell, your sales process will fall flat.
  • At its core, butterfly marketing is an affiliate program. BFM does make it very easy to recruit affiliates, but (and this is huge) you need to feed your affiliates with promo materials that they can grab and use. Creating these materials in a way that is easy to use can be a huge challenge. How Can You Be Successful With Butterfly Marketing?
  • Learn the technical in's and outs. Even if you outsource most of the work, you need a concrete, simple explanation of how Butterfly Marketing works. Click here for a course written by a gifted teacher who makes over $250,000 a year with 30 butterfly marketing sites.
  • Hire a Partner. Outsourcing some of work of your butterfly marketing campaigns is a good idea.  The problem is that not many VAs are very skilled in setting up butterfly marketing (yet).  But, there are some good ways to learn.  Bob the Teacher is offering a course at a deeply discounted rate.  I am taking the class, because I already have clients who want me to set up sites for them and I want to have another source of income.
